The UseLess Shop is Derry's only zero waste and plastic free shop, and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Society Street Market.

With increasing global awareness of the harmfulness of single use plastic, people are realising they need to act now.

The UseLess Shop enables you to literally ‘Use Less’ plastic! It not only provides a good variety of plastic-free products such as safety razors (think of the ones your grandfather used), bamboo toothbrushes, shampoo bars, straws (metal, silicon, bamboo) and much more, as well as some loose foods.

UseLess also provides a vast range of information and advice on how your home and lifestyle could become plastic-free.

Located at Society Street Indoor market every weekend, owner Ruth O’Callaghan can also do deliveries for anyone unable to shop in person.

Interested? Contact Ruth on facebook or call in at the weekends. Tomorrow (Saturday 13th) is Ruth’s birthday and to celebrate she is doing a special offer for £1 off every £10 you spend (Tot up £10, get £1 off, £20 £2 off etc).

Ruth says: “Not only is Society Street important to us, but it’s an important part of the Derry’s growing alternative retail scene. Remember - shop local!”
