Walk in memory of Lyra McKee leaves Belfast for Derry tomorrow

Police are asking the public to be aware of Lyra's Walk, which takes place this weekend.

Approximately several hundred people will set out from Writer’s Square in Belfast at 9am on Saturday (25th) and finish at Guildhall Square around 4pm on Monday (27th) in Derry/Londonderry.

On Saturday the participants will walk as far as Randalstown.  On Sunday they will head towards Dungiven via the A6 main carriageway. On Monday they will complete the route from Dungiven to Derry/Londonderry.

Police will in attendance to ensure the safety of the walkers and minimise disruption.

Motorists are advised to consider this information when planning their journey and all road users should take extra care.
