Ladies fashion retailer Jane Norman opened its eagerly anticipated store in Foyleside Shopping Centre today, writes Michelle Dunlop.
The unique ladies brand, stockists of both women’s fashions and a full range of accessories, commenced business earlier this morning in Foyleside and welcomed their first 100 customers with goodie bags.
Jane Norman is the second new addition to Foyleside in recent weeks, with Vogue, another ladieswear store, opening their doors several weeks back.
The arrival of both Jane Norman and Vogue are a great boost to Foyleside creating a number of new jobs after a bleak few months which saw the closure of several outlets such as Evans, D2, La Senza and Fosters.
One customer browsing the rails at Jane Norman today said: “Its really great to have a new shop here. It shows things are getting better. Everywhere was closing down and things were looking a bit dim but its great to see the arrival of a trendy new shop. I love it!"
The latest fashion addition to the city was also warmly welcomed by Foyleside manager Fergal Rafferty.
“We are delighted to welcome Jane Norman the shopping centre," he said.
"Jane Norman is renowned for its distinctive look and style, embracing the feminine shape and celebrating the image conscious. They adapt contemporary catwalk trends and popular fashions to the Jane Norman style, creating a unique and individual look that the customers love. Their stores are stylish and appealing, evoking a sense of exclusivity and giving our customers a boutique experience on the high street. They are a much loved brand and a great addition to the fashion mix in our Centre."
"Jane Norman is the latest in a number of new openings at Foyleside as we refresh our retailer mix. We've had an extension to Topshop and
Topman, a refurbished store for Clarks and new retailer Vogue opened just over a week ago. This refresh will continue with the opening of
Hoi Polloi very soon and we expect an announcement of a global and much anticipated brand to take on a large store in the coming weeks.
This will mean we are almost fully let and is a huge vote of confidence in Foyleside Shopping Centre.”
