Derry’s Halloween Festival has again proved itself to be a fantastic family-oriented and safe event for locals and visitors to enjoy.
On Halloween there were just three incidents, with fireworks seized, and two charges of disorderly behaviour on Strand Road and Buncrana Road.
Sergeant Dingsdale said: “The festival in the City last night was a great success and lots of people were out enjoying themselves at the various Halloween events taking place.
“The evening largely passed off peacefully. A number of fireworks were seized around 8.30pm from a 17 year old male and a 25 year old man in the Harbour Square area of the city. Both were cautioned and will be reported to the Youth Diversion Officer (YDO) and the PPS respectively.
“Just before 11pm, a 32 year old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and disorderly behaviour in the Strand road area. He was subsequently released, pending a report to the PPS.
“And around 1am this morning (Thursday 1 November), a 16 year old female was arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour in the Buncrana road area. She was issued with a community resolution notice (CRN).”
