A reward has been offered after a large plastic duck celebrating City of Culture was stolen from the Everglades Hotel.

The ‘Culture Duck’ was specially produced at the beginning of the year, based on a competition-winning design by Limavady Grammar School student Georgia Archibald.

Culture Duck had stood on top of the piano since January, to greet guests as they entered the foyer of the Everglades.

However, following the theft the hotel was told by Ulster Unionist councillor Colin McCusker that he believes he saw the duck being taken on to a plane for England recently.

Everglades manager Neil Devlin, who has offered the reward for the duck’s safe return, has asked anyone who knows anything about its whereabouts to contact the hotel on 028 7132 1066.
