Catalytic converters stolen from 10 Mercedes vans

Police are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from vans parked in a yard at an Industrial Park in the Campsie area of Derry.

Sometime between 5 pm on Friday 21 June and 8 am on Monday 24 June, thieves cut through a fence to gain entry to the yard and removed catalytic converters from 10 Mercedes vans parked there. Each catalytic converter will cost £2500 to replace making the total amount of replacement to the owner £25000.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between Friday evening and Monday morning or anyone who has information regarding the theft or if you have been offered these items for sale under suspicious circumstances to contact them at Strand Road 0845 600 8000, or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
